We have been carrying PBS’s Downton Abbey for a while now. It is super-popular and a PBS Masterpiece Theatre production, so I didn’t even check to make sure it was a “clean” program. Well, we are now going through and double-checking all our movies and tv shows and adding information about if they are “clean” or not. So I innocently started watching Downton Abbey and noticing how clean it is with a complex plot, interesting, compelling story, etc. But then near the end of the first episode there is a surprise kiss between two men that is quite long and includes some other affectionate hand stroking, etc. I was appalled. PBS and gay kissing don’t seem to exactly go together.
I’m sure the gay community is very proud of this scene and consider it a huge triumph but I consider it an epic failure on behalf of PBS. You should be able to watch PBS without worrying about if something is going to be offensive or not. I know the homosexual community and others try to make things like this seem normal and ok and that we should accept the homosexual community. While I respect homosexual people and their decision, I do not need to watch it in my home and I cannot feel right recommending this program to anyone that wants to watch family friendly program.
So MommyBearMedia.com will not be carrying Downton Abbey anymore. Sorry, PBS. You’ve lost our trust.
Oh, for Pete’s sake. These people need to get a life.
I’m too tired and not really the right person to write a response to this, so I’ll just leave you with
LOL you homophobic bigot, get off the internet. The downton fandom doesn’t need shits like you anyway.
Seriously?! You piss me off so much. It’s not a big deal first of all and second who cares! Downton Abbey is still an amazing show and apparently everybody else thinks so. I mean look at all the awards they’ve gotten and how many views and episode gets and just the ratings on everything! It got a 9 out of 10 on Imdb! Anyways, your just stupid and Dowton Abbey is AMAZING! I find it funny that you already watched this before and didnt see it? I find that hard to believe. I mean seriously it’s a very important scene with important details you twat!
What can “Downton Abbey” fans expect when the PBS series starts its third season in January?
“Matthew and Mary do get married,” ”Masterpiece” executive producer Rebecca Eaton said Wednesday at a Winter Park party. She previewed the British drama, which is in production, for supporters of WUCF…
Thank god Mary and Matthew are getting married and obviously the “person who’s born” is Sybil and Branson baby since in the Christmas special Cora received a letter from Sybil saying shes pregnant. Now I have no clue who is going to die but I hope it’s not Matthew, Mary, Sybil, Branson, MR.BATES!!!!!! and just everybody! But i guess its going to happen whether we like it or now so i guess now we have to wait painfully.
